WHAT IS THE TAKEALOT YES DIGITAL MARKETING LEARNERSHIP?
The Takealot YES Learnership Programme offers a structured, practical learning experience where participants will be exposed to real-world marketing operations within a dynamic e-commerce environment. Learners gain essential digital marketing skills such as social media strategy, SEO, content creation, analytics, paid advertising, and email marketing. This learnership is particularly valuable in a job market that increasingly demands digital literacy and innovation.
PROGRAMME STRUCTURE:
Duration: 12-month fixed-term contract
Placement: With small businesses (SMMEs) who sell products on Takealot Marketplace
Work Split:
- 80% Digital marketing and marketplace activities.
- 20% Exposure to other aspects of the SMME’s business operations.
Location: Various locations across Gauteng, primarily in townships and urban centers
Support: Regular monitoring and support from Takealot’s programme coordinators
WHO SHOULD APPLY?
The programme targets unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 29, particularly those who have completed Grade 12 and have a keen interest in digital media, marketing, or technology. Applicants do not need prior experience in marketing but must demonstrate a willingness to learn, creativity, and basic computer literacy. The opportunity is also ideal for individuals who want to enter the job market or switch careers into the digital space.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
This is a list of tasks that you will be responsible for doing on your days at work.
- Assist SMMEs with their Takealot Marketplace presence
- Support digital marketing activities including: Social media management and content creation, Basic product photography and image editing, Online listing optimisation, Customer engagement and feedback management
- Help create and optimise product listings for the Takealot Marketplace
- Learn about e-commerce operations and logistics
- Gain exposure to other aspects of business operations
- Complete required training and skills development activities
- Participate in regular progress assessments
