About the Artisan Assistant Role
The Artisan Assistant is responsible for supporting machine operators and qualified artisans in the fabrication of pipes and pipe specials. The role also includes machine cleaning, area maintenance, data recording, and ensuring quality compliance.
This is a hands-on, physically demanding role that requires attention to detail, safety awareness, and a willingness to learn from senior technical staff.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for the Artisan Assistant applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:

Primary Duties
Successful candidates will be responsible for the following:
- Assisting the operator in fabricating pipes and pipe specials using appropriate machinery and tools
- Cleaning machines, cleaning articles, and maintaining general housekeeping
- Planning, organising, and tidying up the work area
- Implementing quality standards and maintaining quality awareness
- Ensuring efficient use of consumables
- Recording relevant data related to articles being fabricated
- Providing support to qualified artisans
- Maintaining customer awareness and ensuring customer satisfaction
- Conducting mini-risk assessments
- Ensuring compliance with the OHS Act and environmental regulations
Knowledge and Skills Required
Applicants must have knowledge or understanding of:
- Pipe fitting and assembly of intricate pipe specials
- Welding/boilermaking tools and equipment
- Working with centre lines and focal points of detailed pipe systems
- Marking, cutting, rolling, and welding processes
