About the Limpopo Provincial Treasury

The Limpopo Provincial Treasury plays a central role in managing and allocating financial resources across provincial departments and public entities. As the custodian of financial governance, it ensures transparency, accountability, and operational efficiency in the use of public funds.

Its Chartered Accountancy Academy is designed to develop high-calibre public-sector Chartered Accountants through intensive, diverse training aligned with SAICA competencies.

Position: Chartered Accountancy Trainee (X5 Posts)

Salary: R468 459 per annum (Level 09)
Centre: Head Office – Polokwane

The CA Academy provides a rich learning environment that exposes trainees to financial management, auditing, reporting, governance, and advisory work across multiple departments and entities. It is ideal for candidates who wish to build a strong career foundation in the public sector.

Requirements

You can apply if:

  • You have a CTA (or equivalent postgraduate qualification) completed within the last two years.
  • OR you are currently completing your CTA or equivalent qualification that will allow you to write SAICA’s Assessment of Initial Competence (AIC) in January 2026.
  • You are not currently under any SAICA training contract with another organisation.

Key Duties

As a Chartered Accountancy Trainee, you will be exposed to:

  • Practical financial management, decision-making, and control functions.
  • A variety of financial reporting frameworks, including PFMA, Companies Act, and Treasury Regulations.
  • Sector-wide financial governance across departments and public entities.
  • Hands-on experience in budgeting, financial oversight, and strategic resource allocation.
