About Kropz Elandsfontein

Kropz Elandsfontein (Pty) Ltd is a South African rock phosphate mining company known for responsible mining practices and sustainable operations. The Elandsfontein operation hosts the second-largest phosphate deposit in South Africa, producing phosphate low in cadmium and heavy metals. This ensures safer fertiliser production that supports food security and sustainable agriculture nationally.

Who Should Apply? (Eligibility Criteria)

To qualify for the Kropz Bursary Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

You must:

  • Reside permanently in the Saldanha Bay Municipal area
  • Be enrolled or planning to enrol full-time for the 2026 academic year at an accredited university or college
  • Have university exemption with an average of at least 65%
  • Achieve 65% or more in English and Mathematics
  • Be pursuing (or planning to pursue) studies in one of the following accredited fields:

Preferred Study Fields:

  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Metallurgical Engineering
  • Mining
  • Geology
  • Environmental Science
  • Accounting
  • Health & Safety Management

Additional Conditions:

  • You must not have another bursary
  • You must not be related to any Kropz employee, contractor, or business partner
  • Priority may be given to learners from disadvantaged backgrounds or those studying towards preferred fields
  • Successful candidates will sign a study-agreement contract with Kropz Elandsfontein
