About eThekwini Municipality
The eThekwini Municipality, one of South Africa’s largest metropolitan municipalities, runs various youth development programmes through its Municipal Academy Directorate.
These programmes help young people gain accredited skills, improve their employability, and contribute towards local economic development. The Hygiene & Cleaning Learnership forms part of the city’s commitment to empowering its communities through structured skills development.
Programme Requirements
To qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric
- South African Citizen with a valid ID
- Must live within the eThekwini Municipality (proof of residence required)
- Must be unemployed and not currently in another developmental programme
- Age 18–35 at the time of the advert
- Must have a genuine interest in hygiene and cleaning
- Must commit to attending all classes and practical training sessions in line with QCTO/SETA standards
Assessment Requirement
- Applicants will undergo assessments during the recruitment process.
- Successful candidates must complete the Learnership as per SETA requirements.
