Ekurhuleni East TVET College (EEC), a leader among vocational training institutions in Gauteng, strives to prepare its graduates for real-world success. Among its standout initiatives is the N6 Marketing Management Graduate Placement Programme—an 18-month in-service training pathway designed to transition Marketing Management learners from academic excellence to industry competence and employment readiness.
What Is the N6 Marketing Management Programme?
The N6 qualification, part of the Report 191/NATED stream, is the culmination of a series of tiers (N4–N6) aimed at equipping students, post-matric, with advanced skills in sales, marketing communication, and marketing research—core modules essential for success in trade and corporate settings.
Why Placement Matters
Completing theoretical coursework is only one piece of the puzzle. EEC recognises that real-world exposure—experience in planning campaigns, interacting with clients, tracking market trends—is the catalyst for transforming knowledge into career competence. The placement programme embeds students directly in workplaces where they can:
- Develop practical skills: apply sales strategies, conduct research, and craft marketing campaigns.
- Build industry connections: network with professionals, mentors, and employers.
- Earn while learning: many placements include a stipend to support students financially.
What the Placement Entails
According to EEC updates, the placement contract is an 18-month structured programme specifically for N6 Marketing Management graduates. During this time, students rotate through key functional areas of marketing, gaining exposure to real projects under professional supervision. Typically concluding with a performance and competency assessment, successful candidates may transition into full-time employment with their host organisation.
How to Qualify:
To enter the programme, candidates must:
- Be a current EEC Marketing Management student (completing N6).
- Provide certified copies of:
- ID and matric certificate,
- N4–N6 academic results and statements,
- A placement referral letter from EEC
- Submit a detailed CV, proof of residence/account, and other standard placement documentation.
- Undergo the college’s compulsory selection and placement testing—an internal process for assessing suitability and readiness
Institutional Support & Partnerships
Ekurhuleni East actively partners with local industry, urging businesses to host students and cultivate their talent. The college offers comprehensive student support services—academic, financial, and logistical—to ensure learners thrive during placements.
Success in Action
Numerous EEC graduates in other N6 business disciplines—such as Management Assistant and Human Resources—have secured permanent roles after placement, serving as strong testimonials to the programme’s effectiveness.
