Eastern Cape Social Development Internship Programme for 2025

Eastern Cape Social Development Internship Programme for 2025

The Eastern Cape Department of Social Development (ECDSD) has launched its highly anticipated Internship Programme, a golden opportunity for graduates seeking to kick-start their careers in public service. This initiative aligns with the government’s commitment to youth empowerment and employment creation by offering practical workplace experience in a range of disciplines.

The programme targets unemployed graduates residing in the Eastern Cape who hold qualifications relevant to the department’s operations. These include, but are not limited to, Social Work, Public Administration, Human Resource Management, Financial Management, Information Technology, Communications, and Monitoring & Evaluation. By engaging these interns in real-time departmental work, the ECDSD fosters both individual growth and improved service delivery to vulnerable communities.

Why Apply for the ECDSD Internship?

The Internship Programme is more than just a job — it’s a structured professional development opportunity. Interns are assigned mentors and supervisors who provide regular feedback, guidance, and support throughout the programme. This mentorship model helps bridge the gap between academic learning and the real-world expectations of the workplace.

What makes the ECDSD Internship even more attractive is the monthly stipend provided to participants, easing the financial burden while they gain critical work experience. This allows interns to focus fully on their learning without the stress of unemployment.
