Department of Health Graduate Internship Programme for 2025

In an effort to address youth unemployment while strengthening the public healthcare sector, the National Department of Health (NDoH) has introduced the Administration and Supply Chain Management Graduate Internship Programme. This initiative is tailored to equip unemployed graduates with real-world experience, practical skills, and a pathway into permanent employment within the health sector. If you’re a passionate graduate looking to grow in public administration or supply chain management, this programme is your gateway to a rewarding career in public service.

Overview of the Programme

The internship programme is designed to run for 24 months, offering structured training and mentoring in key administrative and supply chain functions within the National Department of Health. Interns are deployed across various provincial and national offices, supporting the implementation of vital processes that ensure the efficient delivery of healthcare services.

The programme seeks to build a pool of skilled young professionals capable of transforming public sector operations, particularly in the context of South Africa’s healthcare system. Participants are given the opportunity to contribute directly to public health operations—handling procurement, logistics, asset management, and administrative duties that ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
