Purpose of the Learnership

Learners will be trained on how to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and clamp trucks. You will learn how to:

  • Move, relocate, stack and load raw materials
  • Handle finished goods
  • Participate in stock management activities
  • Support efficient warehouse operations

By the end of the 12-month programme, learners will complete all required learning modules and work-based assessments to receive a declaration of competency.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Physical Stock Handling

Learners will be trained and responsible for:

  • Receiving, despatching and inspecting raw materials, WIP and finished goods
  • Verifying stock accuracy and ensuring correct labelling
  • Moving stock using RF scanners
  • Feeding converting machines with work-in-progress materials
  • Operating strapping machines
  • Picking stock using ABACA and escalating discrepancies
  • Updating inventory and maintaining warehouse records
  • Ensuring product quality and reporting damages
  • Supporting cycle counts, stock rotation and redundant stock processes
  • Cleaning and maintaining work areas
  • Loading and unloading trucks according to standard procedures
  1. Safety
  • Operating forklifts in a safe, compliant manner
  • Adhering to Occupational Health & Safety Act, 1993
  • Following Driven Machinery Regulations

 

 

Requirements
