Collins Chabane Municipality Bursary Programme 2026

Collins Chabane Municipality has officially opened its 2026 Bursary Application Programme, inviting qualifying matriculants and registered tertiary students to apply for registration-fee-only funding in priority study fields that directly support local and national development.

This bursary may not cover full tuition — but make no mistake: registration fees are often the biggest barrier that stops students from even entering campus. This support can be the key that unlocks your academic journey.

What Does the Bursary Cover?

It is important to be fully transparent about what this bursary offers.

The bursary covers:

  • Registration fees at a recognised tertiary institution

The bursary does NOT cover:

  • Tuition fees
  • Accommodation
  • Books
  • Meals
  • Transport
  • Living allowances

Why this still matters:
Many universities and TVET colleges will not allow students to register without upfront payment. This bursary removes that immediate obstacle, allowing students to then seek NSFAS, institutional funding, or part-time work.

Targeted Fields of Study (2026)

The municipality has identified the following priority fields, aligned with infrastructure development, governance, and economic growth:

  1. Civil Engineering
  2. Electrical Engineering

  6. Commerce, including:
