What You’ll Be Doing as an Animal Production Intern
This internship places you at the heart of livestock operations. Your responsibilities will include:
Daily Animal Husbandry & Livestock Handling
- Feeding and caring for animals
- Monitoring animal behaviour and condition
- Safe livestock handling practices
Animal Health Management & Vaccinations
- Assisting with routine vaccinations
- Monitoring disease symptoms
- Supporting basic animal health interventions
Record Keeping & Farm Administration
- Capturing livestock records
- Tracking breeding cycles
- Updating health and production data
Breeding & Herd Management
- Supporting breeding programmes
- Monitoring herd performance
- Assisting with selection and culling decisions
Biosecurity & Animal Welfare Standards
- Implementing hygiene and disease control protocols

Minimum Requirements
To be considered, applicants must meet one of the following:
- Advanced Diploma in Animal Production
OR - Degree in Agriculture / Animal Production

- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors
- Strong team players with good communication skills
- Passionate about farming and animal production
- Willing to learn and take responsibility

Location Matters – Can You Commit?
The internship is based in Kransplaas Ga-Matlala, Limpopo, approximately 70km outside Polokwane.
