About SASSA
The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) is responsible for administering social grants to millions of South Africans. These grants include the Child Support Grant, Disability Grant, Older Persons Grant, Foster Child Grant, Care Dependency Grant, and more.
SASSA plays a crucial role in reducing poverty and ensuring vulnerable individuals have access to financial support. Every day, SASSA staff help citizens apply for grants, update beneficiary records, and resolve issues that directly impact people’s daily lives.
A Grants Administrator is one of the most important frontline roles within SASSA. You are the face of the organisation — guiding applicants, processing grant applications, scanning documents, organising files, and helping the public understand the social assistance system.
