Who Should Apply?
The internship targets unemployed graduates who hold a National Diploma or Degree in Disaster Management, Public Administration, Office Administration, or other relevant fields. The municipality is seeking individuals who are:
- Computer literate, particularly in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and basic GIS (Google Earth proficiency is the minimum requirement).
- In possession of a valid Code B driver’s license, which is essential for fieldwork and responding to incidents.
- Excellent communicators in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape—English, Afrikaans, and isiXhosa.
- Physically fit and capable of working in challenging weather conditions, as disaster response can occur under any circumstances.
In addition to these, the ideal candidate must have strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work well under pressure, and a commitment to public service.
