Minimum Requirements

To qualify, you must meet the following:

Essential Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or NCV Level 4
  • 1–2 years relevant experience
  • Strong working knowledge of legislation such as:
    • NEM: Protected Areas Act
    • National Heritage Resources Act
    • NEM: Biodiversity Act
    • Criminal Procedure Act
    • Marine Living Resources Act
    • Integrated Coastal Management Act
    • PFMA (Public Finance Management Act)
  • Intermediate to advanced computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Clear criminal record (screening will be done)
  • Willingness to undergo polygraph tests
  • Ability to work well in teams
  • Analytical and technical mindset
  • Willingness to work flexible hours (weekends, public holidays)

Added Advantages (Not compulsory)

  • Environmental Management Inspector (EMI) designation
  • Working knowledge of GIS software (ArcGIS or QGIS)
  • Valid Code 8 driver’s license

Key Responsibilities

As a SANParks Data Capturer, you will be responsible for:

  • Capturing data from various sources onto Cmore and other software platforms
  • Assisting with data analysis for proactive and reactive law-enforcement interventions
  • Ensuring accurate and efficient information management
  • Monitoring technology feeds in the Operations Room
  • Supporting operational control measures aligned to safety & security plans
  • Capturing information into relevant systems and databases
  • Handling reports and information from operators
  • Assisting the Operations Room Control Officer with deployments and logistics
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders
  • Providing administrative and procurement support
  • Assisting with internal training when required

Your work will directly impact how quickly and effectively security teams respond to incidents across the park.
