Requirements
Senior Certificate.
Successful completion of Critical Care Assistant (CCA) program.
Current registration with Health Professional Council of South Africa (2026/2027) as a Paramedic.
Knowledge of CCA / NDIP/ ECP scope of practice.
Valid Code 10 (C1) Driver's license and PrDP.
Experience: Grade 1: None after registration with the HPCSA as Paramedic (CCA).
Grade 2: 7 years after registration with HPCSA as a Paramedic (CCA) or non-after registration
with HPCSA a Paramedic with National Diploma.
Grade 3: 14 years (CCA) after registration with the HPCSA as Paramedic.
7 years (NDIP) after registration with HPCSA as Paramedic, none for registered ECP.
Grade 4: 24 years (CCA) after registration with HPCSA as a Paramedic.
17 years after registration with HPCSA as a Paramedic.
10 years (ECP) after registration with HPCSA as an ECP.
Knowledge And Skills: Ability to render emergency care and rescue procedures within scope of practice.
Knowledge of Emergency Plans.
Knowledge of Emergency Circulars and policies.
Knowledge of Score of Practice for Emergency Care.
Be able to work under pressure and excessive hours.
Physical and mental fitness.
Computer literacy.
Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
Knowledge of Free State Province.
Duties
Effective pre-hospital emergency care service.
Treat and transport patients as per protocol and safe delivery to medical facility of patient choice.
Respond to emergency calls.
Call for support when required, Clean vehicle and equipment with appropriate detergents.
Completion of patient report forms and log sheets, Communicate with Control Centre.
Undertake inter-hospital transfer when required.
Perform overtime, when required.
Participate in in-service training and refresher courses.
Effective communication with regards to patients, colleagues and other service providers and members of the public if necessary
for an effective emergency service.
Completion of Declaration of Death forms as per Standard Operating Procedure.
Perform administrative functions associated with daily tasks.
Check the allocated vehicle and equipment and complete the checklist.
Report all losses, damages, discrepancies, deficiencies.
Change and replenish surgical sundries and medical gasses.
Maintain the unit in a clean condition and good working order at all times.
Assist in maintaining a clean and tidy base.
Complete and submit all appropriate paperwork to the Shift Leader before the termination of the shift.
Maintenance of Emergency vehicle and Equipment.
Management of assets within your Shift.
