Requirements

An ABET (NQF 3) or equivalent qualification.
No experience required.
All shortlisted candidates, including the SMS, shall undertake two pre-entry assessments.
One will be a practical exercise to determine a candidate’s suitability based on the post’s technical and generic requirements and the other
must be an integrity (ethical conduct) assessment.
Knowledge of propagation methods, record keeping, and Supervisory.
Sound organising and planning skills.
Knowledge of operating a computer.
Good communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, problem solving and numerical skills.
Ability to work with difficult people.
Ability to work under pressure.
Ability to work with limited supervision.

Duties

Conduct production activities in line with the operational plans.
Allocate task to
labourers as per production sheet.
Check seedlings and plants for pests and diseases.
Ensure harvesting activities.
Prepare fire breaks.
Oversee the maintenance of the plantation, and woodlots.
Weed control.
Watering and fertilising the plants.
Render general support functions.
Conduct stocktaking.
Provide training and development to staff.
