How to become a Diesel Mechanic in South Africa
1. Meet the entry requirement. SAQA ID 117237 requires an NQF Level 1 qualification with Mathematics.
2. Complete occupational training. The qualification combines knowledge, practical skills and substantial workplace experience in diesel vehicle systems, maintenance and fault diagnosis.
3. Complete the external assessment. Learners must provide evidence of the required modules and workplace experience before the external integrated summative assessment.
4. Meet the physical requirement. The SAQA record specifies a medical certificate of fitness.
