Requirements
Minimum qualification: Grade 10/AET level 5 to Grade 12(school report with school stamp & log),Relevant and previous exposure in a Food service environment with at least 1-year work experience, exposure in a Food Service Hospital environment will be an added advantage.
Applicants should have basic knowledge & understanding of Food Safety and various Hygiene practices necessary in the Food Service Unit.
Applicants should understand Batho Pele Principles in relation to Food Services Numeracy & literacy skills, good communication skills (verbal & written) Must be willing to work shifts (early and late), public holidays and weekends.
Must be able to do work of a physical nature.
Must be reliable and trustworthy.
Duties
Perform routine tasks in the Food Service Unit, do pre-preparation for both normal & therapeutic diets.
Cook meals for both normal, special diets and dish food according to dietary requirements of patients.
Perform tasks assigned to you to ensure hygiene and safety standards are maintained in the unit (washing of pots, plates, utensils, equipment, drains, grids, fridges and freezer rooms, storerooms and other areas in the unit).
Unpacking and packing provisions into fridges and freezers and storage areas.
Adhere to set policies and guidelines regulating Food service.
Rotate and work as a reliever in the unit.
