The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) invites unemployed South African youth to apply for its TVET placement and internship programme for university graduates for the period 2026 to 2028 (24 months). This exciting opportunity offers young people valuable workplace experience in various NPA divisions across the country.

Programme Overview

The NPA’s internship programme aims to provide hands-on work experience for students and graduates, supporting skills development and employability in the justice and public administration sectors.

  • Duration: 24 Months (2026–2028)
  • Target Group: Unemployed South African TVET College students and university graduates
  • Preference: People with disabilities are encouraged to apply

General Requirements

To be considered, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Must have no criminal record or pending cases
  • Must be unemployed and have never participated in any previous internship or placement programme
  • Applicants from TVET Colleges should be studying towards a qualification that requires work-integrated learning
  • University graduates must have completed a qualification from a recognised university or university of technology

  1. Complete the latest Z83 Form — available here
  2. Attach a comprehensive CV that includes your educational background, contact details, and references.
  3. Do not attach certified copies of qualifications and ID when submitting the initial application. These will be requested only from shortlisted candidates.

    • Applications submitted through any other channels will be considered invalid.

Important Notes

  • The NPA uses an Electronic Response Handling System—do not contact the NPA directly after sending your application.
  • If you haven’t received an acknowledgment within one week after the closing date, you may contact the relevant enquiries person.
  • Fingerprints will be taken on the day of the interview.
  • The social media accounts of shortlisted applicants may be checked as part of the verification process.
  • The NPA does not pay resettlement costs for successful applicants.
  • Applicants who use the old Z83 form will be automatically disqualified.
