The Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) is proud to announce its Graduate Internship Programme, designed to empower South African graduates with essential workplace skills while preparing them for successful careers in the mining and minerals sector. This opportunity is open to dynamic graduates who want to gain hands-on experience through structured training, mentorship, and developmental projects.
The internship is a 24-month programme, offering a monthly stipend of R9 306,18. Graduates will be placed within critical departments, ensuring maximum exposure to the MQA’s mandate of promoting skills development across the industry.
Internship Opportunities
Quality Assurance Internship
Qualifications Required:
- A National Diploma or Degree in Quality Management / Quality Assurance / Education and Training / related field.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation of quality assurance systems.
- Assist with accreditation of training providers and assessment centres.
- Conduct quality audits and prepare reports.
- Ensure compliance with SAQA and SETA regulatory frameworks.
Communications Internship
Qualifications Required:
- A National Diploma or Degree in Communications / Public Relations / Journalism / Media Studies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Draft and edit internal and external communication material.
- Assist with media relations, press releases, and stakeholder engagement.
- Support the planning and execution of campaigns, events, and awareness programmes.
- Manage content for newsletters, website updates, and social media platforms.
Learning Programmes / Strategic Projects Internship
Qualifications Required:
- A National Diploma or Degree in Project Management / Education / Business Administration / related field.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide support in managing learning programmes and strategic initiatives.
- Assist with project planning, coordination, and reporting.
- Monitor progress of funded training projects.
- Engage with stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of learning interventions.
Skills Development and Research Internship
Qualifications Required:
- A National Diploma or Degree in Research / Statistics / Economics / Human Resource Development / related field.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with research and data collection on sector skills needs.
- Analyse labour market information and prepare reports.
- Contribute to the development of the MQA Sector Skills Plan.
- Provide administrative support for skills development initiatives.
