What Is the EPWP?
The EPWP is a national government initiative aimed at combating poverty and unemployment by offering short-term, meaningful work combined with on-the-job training across key sectors: Infrastructure, Social, Non-State, and Environment/Culture. Within UMzinyathi, this programme focuses on labor-intensive public works that not only deliver immediate employment but also foster skill acquisition and uplift local communities.
POSITIONS: EXPANDED PUBLIC WORKS PROGRAMME (EPWP) (X150 POSTS)
Primary Function
Perform a variety of cleaning, dusting, mopping, vacuuming and washing duties in and around the Opportunity Centre. Ensure that the floors do not remain dirty for long and trash bins are emptied regularly. Prepare and serve beverages during meetings.
Requirements
- Grade 10
- Grade 12 advantageous
- No Experience required
- ID Document
- 18 years and above (not in retirement age)
- Must be in the indigent register of all local under uMzinyathi District Municipality (uMsinga LM, uMvoti LM, Ndumeni LM and Nquthu LM)
