Key Duties and Responsibilities

Messenger Services

  • Collect official correspondence from government institutions.
  • Verify items against collection lists before leaving.
  • Deliver documents and packages safely, professionally and on time.
  • Handle all deliveries with care and accuracy.
  • Ensure proper record-keeping, including signatures, receipts, and logbook entries.
  • Sort packages according to route for efficient trips.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and receiving offices.
  • Follow RAF Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) when handing documents to internal departments.
  • Plan efficient routes before departure.

Transport & Operations

  • Load and unload cargo or organisational items responsibly.
  • Transport goods, materials or staff securely.
  • Identify vehicle or equipment faults and report them.
  • Ensure safe transport practices at all times.

Reporting & Compliance

  • Report any vehicle defects, equipment issues, traffic violations, accidents or losses.
  • Keep the assigned vehicle clean and in good working condition.
  • Maintain logbooks per fleet policy.
  • Report delays, breakdowns, and franking machine issues.
  • Escalate serious equipment faults to the relevant supervisor quickly.
