Purpose of the Programme

The primary goal of this apprenticeship is to prepare learners to work independently and productively as boilermakers. Apprentices will be trained to plan, manufacture, assemble, inspect, and repair components while applying technical knowledge in diverse contexts. Key Responsibilities

• Installing, assembling, and fitting components for structural and mechanical applications.
• Testing, inspecting, commissioning, maintaining, and repairing equipment, systems, and assemblies.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants must meet the following academic entry requirements. Any one of these routes can qualify you for entry:

Option 1: N2 Certificate

• Plating & Structural Drawing
• Engineering Drawing (draughting)
• Metal Worker’s Theory
• Plater’s Theory

Option 2: N3 – N6 Subjects

• Mathematics (pure)
• Engineering Science
• Plating & Structural Drawing
• Engineering Drawing (draughting)
• Mechanotechnology

Option 3: NCV Level 4

• English (First Additional Language)
• Mathematics (pure)
• Life Orientation
• Engineering Process
• Professional Engineering Practice
• Applied Engineering Technology
• Welding

Option 4: Technical Grade 12

• Mechanical Technology (welding and metalwork)
• Mathematics
• Engineering and Graphic Design
• Physical Science
• Home Language and First Additional Language
• Life Orientation

Additionally, applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old.
